Assalamualaikum,
My sharing today is about the journey of love to Allah. Actually this is the topic from the talk that I joined live via YouTube. This talk was delivered by Dr. Ali Albarghouthi. Who is Dr. Ali Albarghouthi? He is Khateeb, Shaykh, Speaker, and an instructor at Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque.
This talk is all about love, do you ever ask yourself what kind of love that you really want in your life? Love from your parents? Love from your friends? Or love from Allah? Love from whom is enough for you? Of course we will answer the love from Allah. But, what is it that we do in our life that naturally shows we love Allah? Let us jump to another question. What will we do when we love someone? Of course we will try to be close to them and try to make them happy. That is the sign that demonstrates our love.
Our life is based on the emotion of love and hate . We want to be close to the thing that we love and run away with the thing that we hate. Love is the most strong base emotion that we have. All of us are looking for love, Allah embedded the love in us. Do you know why Allah embedded love in our heart? This is because Allah created this universe out of love and Allah put a lot of things and beauty around and Allah also put the desire to love Allah in our heart. The reason is because Allah wants us to go through this life from the infancy until death and choose Him instead of other things. Allah wants us to choose Him and have Him as the first in our heart because that is the sign of a believer.
Allah sent the Quran as the guidance for us. That is not to burden, restrict or complicate our life but Allah wants to tell us what is best for us and what is harmful because He loves us. Allah wants us to choose Him instead of our desire and forbidden thing. When we can choose Allah instead of other things, by that we discover the love of Allah.
No person in this world can give us everything that we want and can answer all of our questions. There is no one who can fill the gap in our heart except Allah as He can answer all of our questions and give satisfaction. When we look for human's love, we will find out that they are incomplete. Alhamdulillah, if we have someone in our life that we love and they love us back, but they are not enough as sometimes they may love you and sometimes they change. Therefore, before you love someone, love Allah first, whom gives that love to you and makes it possible for you to experience love. Allah is the greatest love.
